THE FILTER THAT BELONGS ON SCREEN, NOT IN REALITY.

Created in response to Northern Ontario wildfires of April 2026, the Wildfire Filter is a free, downloadable LUT that gives filmmakers, colourists and content creators the look of a dystopian future informed by wildfire disasters happening far too often, right now.

Created by Alter Ego’s co-founder and renowned colourist Eric Whipp, whose work includes Mad Max: Fury Road and Furiosa. The filter was developed by analyzing and recreating the colour values, tonal shifts and atmospheric characteristics in real photos and footage captured during the Ontario wildfires.

This project aims to rally the creative community by bringing awareness to wildfire prevention and offering support for relief efforts.

Toronto Wildfire LUT

Based on the Northern Ontario wildfires of April 2026. The Toronto Wildfire LUT features a cinematic orange haze.

DO GREAT WORK. BE KIND.

That's always been our philosophy.

We are a premier bi-coastal post-production creative studio specializing in colour grading, visual effects (VFX), CG and motion design.

With studios in Toronto, Vancouver and Los Angeles, we bring together world-class artistry and cutting-edge technology to create some of the most visually distinctive work in film and advertising. We recognize that the beautiful natural landscapes that we use to bring our stories to life are often places that are most at risk of wildfires. The Wildfire Filter is an extension of that philosophy: using creativity not only to tell stories.
